IALE history in picturesFor a trip into the history of IALE we have asked members to send us some pictures of the meetings that they have been to. The gallery as we have it now show already a huge development in tools and technology. In 1981 and 1982 black and white and colour pictures were used. In 2003 a music animated PowerPoint presentation gives us an impression of the congress. One thing is for sure, within IALE science is always combined with social events, music and dance. The people behind the science, the community of Landscape ecologists is important for its future.Until now we have pictures from the first landscape ecology meeting where the idea for IALE was born (1981), the founding conference in Piestany, Czechoslovakia, the first World Congress in Roskilde, Denmark (1984), the World Congress in Münster, Germany (1987), the European meeting in 2001, the IALE Asia-Pacific meeting in Lanzhou (2001) and the World Congress in Darwin, Australia (2003). The contributions are from Severin ten Houte de Lange, Wolfgang Haber, Rob Jongman, Richard Hobbs and some unknown photographers. We are looking forward to impressions from the other meetings.
