How to get to Wageningen

Wageningen can be reached by train and by car. Several airports are nearby, such as Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Eindhoven and Rotterdam. Below is the overview of the different means of transport and some advises on cheap air companies.

A. Flying to the Netherlands

  1. Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport

      (under "choose language" you can obtain info in Dutch, English, French, German and Chinese)
    • All big companies fly to Amsterdam Airport and it is the easiest access, especially for intercontinental flights. Many European low cost carriers also fly to Schiphol, such as Air Berlin, Budget Air, EasyJet, SkyEurope and Transavia.
    • From Schiphol Airport there is an easy train connection to Wageningen. The train station can be found by following the signs. A ticket to Railway Station Ede-Wageningen can be bought at the counter or through ticket machines. The Netherlands has only single tickets or one day return tickets.
    • At platform 1 every hour at:15 and :45 there is a train direction Utrecht; arrival in Utrecht (third stop) at platform 9. Change at platform 14 (most times) for the train to Arnhem or Nijmegen. This train stops in Ede Wageningen. The train trip takes 1 hour. At Railway Station Ede Wageningen go down the stairs and to the left (south entrance) There bus 88 (Valleilijn) will bring along the congress venue (CINEMEC (7 minutes) you to the Busstation Wageningen (20 minutes).   2. Rotterdam Airport

    • Many regional airlines especially to southern Europe and the UK fly from and to Rotterdam. Check this site for more information. From Rotterdam there is public transport to Ede Wageningen (Train from Rotterdam Central Station and Utrecht).
      At Railway Station Ede Wageningen go down the stairs and to the left (south entrance) There bus 88 (Valleilijn) will bring along the congress venue (CINEMEC) you to the Busstation Wageningen. See C. Bus
  3. Eindhoven Airport
    • Website: http://www.eindhovenairport.com
    • KLM, Ryan Air and Corendon fly daily to Eindhoven Airport from Paris, London, Barcelona, Milan, Rome, Dublin and Istanbul. From Eindhoven Airport public transport is available. With Bus nr 401, starting at Eindhoven Airport, Eindhoven Central station is convenient accessible. From Eindhoven Station you can get a train to Ede Wageningen (via Utrecht).
      At Railway Station Ede Wageningen go down the stairs and to the left (south entrance) There bus 88 (Valleilijn) will bring along the congress venue (CINEMEC) you to the Busstation Wageningen. See C. Bus
  4. Düsseldorf Airport, Germany
    • Website http://www.duesseldorf-international.de, available in German and English.
    • This is one of the big international German Airports where many big companies and budget airlines have flights to. Check the website for the possibilities.
    • You can go from Düsseldorf Airport to railway station Ede Wageningen by train. Take the regional train to Duisburg and change there for Arnhem. In Arnhem take the train to Ede-Wageningen.
      At Railway Station Ede Wageningen go down the stairs and to the left (south entrance) There bus 88 (Valleilijn) will bring along the congress venue (CINEMEC) you to the Busstation Wageningen. See C. Bus


B. Train

  1. It is possible to reach Wageningen by train. It is situated on the connection Utrecht-Arnhem.
  2. If you come with the Thalys from Paris or Brussels change in Rotterdam for the direction Arnhem or Nijmegen. This train will stop at railway station Ede Wageningen.
    From there you can take a taxi or bus (at present line 88, schedule see above). This bus also stops at the congress venue.
  3. If you come from Germany with the IC, change at Arnhem as this train does not stop in Ede Wageningen.
    From there you can take the bus or continue by train to Ede Wageningen and take the bus there (in both cases: At Railway Station Ede Wageningen go down the stairs and to the left (south entrance) There bus 88 (Valleilijn) will bring along the congress venue (CINEMEC) you to the Busstation Wageningen. C. Bus

D. Car

Ede Wageningen is situated along several motorways in north-south direction (A50 in the east) and east west direction (A12 in the north and A15 in the south). See for the location and the roadnetwork the map below.
