The Venue

  • The Conference will be held in Wageningen and in a multifunctional Cinema and conference venue in Ede at 6 kilometres between Wageningen and the railway station.
  • The Conference will last from Monday 9 July to Thursday 12 July 2007.
  • The welcome reception is on Sunday 8 July offered by the municipality of Wageningen.
  • The evening programme is planned for several locations within Wageningen.
  • The venue of the conference will be the CINEMEC, a multifunctional Cinema Centre in Ede, near Wageningen.

  • Wageningen is a convenient centre to meet.
  • The largest centre for environmental research in Europe.

What can Wageningen offer?

  • One hour to Amsterdam with world famous cultural heritage.
  • Just over an hour to Rotterdam, the second largest harbour in the world.
  • Two hours to the beaches of the north sea coast.
  • Three hours to Maastricht, Gent, Antwerp and Brussels.
  • Four hours to the forests of the Ardennes, vineyards of the Mosel valley and Champagne region in France.
  • Train connections to the whole of Europe, high speed trains from Arnhem to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, from Rotterdam to Brussels and France.

The conference venue (CINEMEC) was chosen because

  • It provides superb audio/video facilities with service support in custom built sound proof theatres.
  • Suitable hall available for the plenaries and through video links in all theatres rooms.
  • Eight separate theatres for simultaneous presentations in symposia and workshops.
  • Access to the posters throughout the conference.
  • Access to e-mail and internet available.
  • There is a suitable hall for the final presentations and round table discussion.
  • On site catering facilities throughout the congress.
  • A wide range of accommodation types available and prebookings have been made.
  • Shuttle busses will run during the conference between hotels, railway station and conference venue.
